I got to help make this, and I’m proud!
Space noir salvaging game *Ostranauts* reached its full 1.0 release today, sharing a birthday with my daughter!
I’m so proud of what the team has built, and honored to be part of the studio. Check it out.

For #ScreenshotSaturday , and since this milestone is taking extra long (sorry!), we figured we'd share a sneak preview of what's in store for Ostranauts's 0.14 Milestone.
Yoink! Ostranauts is filling the void left by Objects in Space for me, I only hope they add in a lot of clunks and clicks for the switches in the UI oh PLEEEEASE
We're in a bundle, folks!
3 indie devs banding together to form the "Creative Combat Tactics" bundle on Steam, featuring:
Fights in Tight Spaces @GroundShatter
Caves of Qud @cavesofqud
NEO Scavenger @dcfedor
@GPejeau Thanks for sharing! It's a good work tune.
I'm loving your work, so thanks for sharing it too. It's evocative, varied, unique, and lovingly detailed.
@RPDeshaies Good points on other levers to vary its feel.
I like Declare a Truth. I'm considering using it together with Stunts.
Also thinking of Stunts allowing use of supernatural abilities, and therefore depleting Stunt die tempers use/effectiveness of those abilities.
@qh_murphy And now last month marked our one-year mark (30 sessions!) using PF2e for a rollicking, old-school hexcrawl in the Wilderlands of High Fantasy.
@qh_murphy I respected your taste from 4e. After strongly disliking PF1, I was led to finally give PF2e a serious look by your passion for it and specific points of praise for it (especially its similarities to 4e).
@qh_murphy “Just right” indeed. WG has automation but room for customization, and w Owlbear Rodeo, it takes about two minutes to get an unexpected tactical encounter up with color maps and tailored tokens. And you can’t beat free.
@qh_murphy That's wonderful to hear Quinn! It's so good to be back together with friends and imagination. We've been having great results w PF2e using Owlbear Rodeo and Wanderer's Guide for a digital experience while physically in-person, each on one's own laptop, physical dice.
This is huge! Scrapping together a spaceworthy ship is so deep now. This game makes a fantastic, hard scifi roguelike. I can't wait to see what spacers and their stories emerge (with almost universally tragic ends).
Just finished reading this fantastic story. Like glowing spores stuck to clothes, I can't shake it's depth, humanity, and wonder from my mind. Thank you, Dominica, for bringing forth this beauty buried in deep places and sharing it, like rain, with all of us.
So excited to make my https://t.co/zNTx2gbCwW debut!
Sword & Spore is a science fantasy novelette straight from my heart ❤️🥀🍄🌙

@graciedarts@GregStolze Cortex Prime is excitingly expansive in that any narrative detail can be given fun mechanical weight without upsetting any balance. If you mean "too little" in terms of advancement or non-abstract financial accounting, I think "enough" depends on a group's desired dramatic focus.
@NaviMusing Ah, makes sense, part of upkeep. I might've missed it because I wasn't using a sheet, just phone Notes with numbers for each rather than ticks.
Is spare gas only what's found and carried as Load, or if I end a trip at Gas 4, could 1 (or 2) gas count as spare for the Spares Bank?
@NaviMusing I seem unable to message either of you atm, but one main question is: Do grit/gear/glow refresh to starting stat levels at any point, or do they rise only by being bought and found? Relatedly are stat levels max caps without a spares bank?
@NaviMusing@MultipleManArmy Enjoying the tension and atmosphere! Survived my first 2 ended-too-soon salvage runs with a Slicer. Gas shortage escalates!
If I have a few rules clarification questions, are you open to them here or somewhere else?
@BradJMurray What emerges is surprise about both how this person will hovercraft problems, and also how they will cope with facing situations that can't really be hovercrafted. Which will be the situations that motivate growth into the unknown and which will be resolved with familiar methods.
@BradJMurray The central point about skills telling a person's story is fascinating; not only "how will you use XYZ to tell your story," or even "what story is suggested by your having XYZ," but also, "how will your story's conflict reveal that XYZ is not sufficient, demanding change/growth?"
