Thank you H.E. Dame Barbara Woodward, Ambassador, UK Mission to the UN @BWoodward_UN for your call to the #Houthis at UN Security Council meeting today “to uphold freedom of religion or belief and immediately and unconditionally release the remaining #Bahais in detention.”

An elderly, wheelchair-bound Iranian #Bahai woman wants to visit her late husband’s grave. #Iran’s govt has barred her & other Baha’is—who are forced to leave flowers outside—in a sad deprivation of the right to visit #Khavaran cemetery. #OurStoryIsOne

#Iran may have released some human rights defenders, but too many are still behind bars, including women & young HRDs who are criminalised for the simple exercise of their freedom of expression. At #HRC55 I once again called on @PMIRAN_GENEVA to do the right thing & free them.
Thank you from our Brussels office to Member of the European Parliament @LeopoldoLopezG for hosting the #OurStoryIsOne concert with @lukeslott and Jasmine, inspired by the 40th anniversary of the execution of ten #Bahai women in #Iran.
Imagine the suffering if the graves of your loved ones were destroyed or violated? Thank you Mansoureh @BehkishM for highlighting these violations. #HumanRightsViolations#Iran

The #HumaRights of #Bahai women, men & children in #Iran are a litmus test of human rights in general in Iran. As persecution of Bahais increases alarm bells are ringing for human rights of all in Iran. Thank you @AlinejadMasih for highlighting these imprisonments. #OurStoryIsOne
@dperell, Bahá'í international Community representative to the United Nations, shared earlier today at @COP28_UAE, "that values associated with the feminine are found in all of us. Compassion, empathy, flexibility, etc. must be cultivated in everyone if we are to shift from the patterns of division and competition to unity and cooperation." These qualities - put into practice - are the tools that will help us overcome climate change. All groups in society have specific wisdom to add to decision making processes, we must find space to welcome this diversity. Thank you @GreenHopeYouth and @Oikoumene for the opportunity to share these perspectives and more at the #FaithPavilion at COP28 in Dubai, UAE.
Many thanks to @pen_int @PENIreland and all the PEN Centres who have called on the #Iranian government to unconditionally release poet #MahvashSabet who is in prison simply because of the fact that she is a #Bahai is#OurStoryIsOne
The elderly and the sick are being callously imprisoned by Iranian authorities. 90-year-old #Bahai Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani has been arrested while suffering from pancreatic cancer, heart disease and high blood pressure. He is just one among many Baha’is suffering from illnesses while imprisoned without adequate medical care. This is inhumane and cruel. What are the likely consequences of detention for an ill 90-year-old like Mr. Khanjani? We call on the Iranian government to free Mr Khanjani and all those suffering imprisonment who require medical care.

@KianSabeti
The 10 women were arrested in October and November 1982. They suffered harsh interrogations and torture by Revolutionary Guards in an attempt to coerce them to recant their faith, denied the right to a lawyer, denied a trial in a public court, and ultimately sentenced by the Sharia judge of Shiraz to execution by hanging for, among other things, teaching moral education classes for children.
