I've updated my list of visual design rules you can safely follow every time to add rules about nested corners and hard dividers.
Up to 25 rules now.
I've also tweaked the explanations to make it clearer why they're good rules to follow.

Readers, especially white readers, are *not* entitled to footnotes / explanations / direct translations of non-English words that a BIPOC author chooses to use in their books with intentions of not translating.
13: I'm going to get a really cool car when im older & have my own family
30: I could probably live off my savings for 6 months without working & then just kill myself when I run out
Huh, I've never considered this. A reply even suggests this is because male specimens are more interesting with more variation???? Wow of course one concludes the case given this fact.
There are more male specimens in natural history collections than female.
This might sound inconsequential, but it could be baking in a sex bias for studies looking at everything from biogeography to taxonomy.

I was asked to appear on someone’s show and do a “Chinatown” episode, when everyone else who appeared prior got to demonstrate their special skills and interests. I refused. Is me being Asian the only thing that defines me? Do I not have any other abilities?
For cis women, trans rights are about whether you’re good enough at being a woman and good enough at being confined to the white Christian nationalist version of womanhood to be safe.
You probably aren’t. And no amount of punishing trans people will change that.
Being anti-trans is only possible by policing the gender and sex of everyone. Because I promise you - you don’t know who is trans and who isn’t.
Also, most of this isn’t really about trans people although we get hurt the most first - it’s about control.
Cis people: I need you to understand (and help others understand) that “the trans debate” is NOT relevant “to only a small number of people” but to everyone. Thread below for why:
(This is focused on cis women, but cis dudes I need you to listen too. You are also in danger.)
For one thing, in general, white men as a group have tended to talk about ourselves as a kind identity-less “normal” default person with a clear view of the world driven by logic and reason, with everyone else having identities distorting their views.
And that’s why I struggle to see any critique of “wokeness” (or “cancel culture” or “political correctness”) as valid, ESPECIALLY coming from a white man: society is almost perfectly constructed to validate and rationalize these particular biases, to accept and spread them.
And of course “wokeness” isn’t the only term that does this. “Cancel culture,” “political correctness” - we’re great at coming up with ill-defined and endlessly debatable concepts that tend to mean “when subordinate social groups go too far and cause us distress.”
