If I have learned one singular thing, a single piece of wisdom during my time on this Earth it is this: Live your life in the most bold and courageous way possible.
So much fun this morning with the Save Dallas City Hall petitions. We didn't know if folks would show up in the rain, but we had a steady stream and even more signers than yesterday! Folks are FIRED UP to Save City Hall & Bust the Bond! Happy Halloween!

This terrorist attack didn't destroy America, but it changed us. After a brief period of unity, how sad to see the years roll on and those anti-American voices grow louder on our own soil and sometimes in elected office. G-d Bless America. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
‼️Yesterday, the City Council learned that an essential 911 service contract had expired nearly a month earlier. I pulled the $10 million item off the consent agenda to ask questions and made the motion to approve it.
This lapsed contract with AT&T provides the critical network that allows secure digital emergency communications, including Text to 911, photo and video sharing with 911, location based routing, redundant network paths, cybersecurity, and digital voice calls.
It is absolutely shocking that an issue this serious was placed on the consent agenda without any note to the City Council explaining what happened, why this essential public safety contract was allowed to expire, or what management will do to ensure it never happens again.
At a time when national leaders are gathered in our city core and large crowds and protests can increase public safety demands, Dallas was relying on this critical digital 911 highway after the underlying contract had expired, without the City Council even being made aware of the situation.
This is the same management proposing to move our 911 facility to an older, less secure building that presents new risks and operational concerns. 911 is one of the most essential services a city provides. That a contract so critical to the safety of our residents was allowed to lapse, and that Council was not even proactively informed, is truly shocking and concerning.
Dallas has a very large, busy 911 center. State law requires continuity of service, even if the city flubs the contract. Was there a risk to any resident or visitor who needed 911? I hope not but this is not an acceptable way to administer such a critical service. @BustTheBond@savecityhall
