@lukeweston I never even got a Raspberry Pi (1) Model B for anywhere near $35USD in Australia back in the day (~2014). It was more like $100USD.
The Orange Pi Zero & NextThingCo CHIP were reasonable though...
@jmcg_me I really don't like how the shadows look; though arguably this at least improves on the horrible legibility of the ugly liquid glass interfaces by having some amount of contrast.
@stupidtechtakes there is some truth to it. docker is best used as a stable build platform. you need to be careful about using it as a sandbox - i have accidentally done sandbox escapes from it with badly mounted/mapped folders.
@Raynerdtech On Linux, I can fix the unmaintained drivers from gear I purchased for a lot of money.
On Windows and MacOS, I can use the creative software I paid thousands for.
@uwunetes like recaptcha, the goal is usually just to punish bots, crawlers and scrapers for abusing infrastructure; making it more costly in terms of energy/cpu time to access while impacting normal users a negligible amount.
tldr: it's more anti-DoS than anti-bot.
@JulianGray this is why mutually exclusive factors are so important for authentication, biometrics shouldn't be an alternative to knowledge factors, but supplemental. we're also seeing distress codes being ligated in multiple levels jurisdictions.
@JulianGray i personally prefer well audited open code to obscure closed code - security by default is paramount, but for the paranoid, journalists, and politically persecuted I wouldn't necessarily recommend an iPhone unless they've also had security hygiene training & configured it so
@bubbmungus@leastfavorite_ I also seem to recall that he used the high end Blue Bottle condenser (not the Yeti) - which was part of the weirdly crushed yet airy tone.
@bubbmungus@leastfavorite_ According to some interviews I faintly recall, just really aggressive hand time+pitch correction in melodyne. That said, when people do pitch bends on a Digitech Vocalist? Sounds early similar
Another major achievement! Now we have 4 cores enabled! This allows to have a somewhat usable experience
Now working on enabling the M3 cores and to allow them to work at their full capacity
