@pehq_ i found that godot is pretty easy to get into coming from roblox, and it has 2d & 3d built in. i saw your other reply, were you having issues with 3d in godot?
@uglyburger0 its such a classic dev thing to have something like this that can be fixed in like 2 lines of code to make it a random day only in studio, but then going "it's a small thing i'll change it later" and then never doing it
quitting roblox dev because i feel it's a bad decision to build something on a platform that likes to change so much under our noses, it's like the unity thing that happened last year
but regardless i'm SUPER EXCITED to move on to godot and steam i have so many cool ideas ๐ซถ
@DampDEV@EYEeverywhere godot is suuper similar to studio and really easy to get into!
having previous experience will make it easier for you to get into a different engine compared to the many people who pick one up without any previous experience
@crimianity lots of people are making it about the 5$ thing but honestly it's just an unstable foundation to build on a platform that constantly changes rules, breaks content, workflows, etc.
anyone moving to steam has to pay $100 to publish anyways so it's not exactly cheaper right๐ญ
Everyone complains about โslopโ on Roblox.
But those games are pulling millions of visits.
At some point you have to ask, is it really slop, or do players just enjoy it more than what youโre building?
