Heavy rainfall in Jharkhand triggers flooding in Odisha.

1️⃣ Subarnarekha River is a rain-fed, east-flowing river originating in Jharkhand, flowing through West Bengal & Odisha before draining into the Bay of Bengal.

2️⃣ Recent floods impacted 17 gram panchayats in Odisha’s Balasore district — key areas include Bhograi, Baliapal, Basta, and Jaleswar NAC.

3️⃣ Causes: Intense rainfall in Jharkhand leading to sudden water discharge downstream.
