It was erased a long time ago. Persia was originally known as Aryanam in the holy book of the Zoroastrians, Avesta, the name meaning Land of Aryans because the Indo Aryans descended from Central Asia. These nomadic tribes dispersed into two regions -Aryanam - (Aryan has nothing to do with the Nazi ideology) where they became the Zoroastrians and to northern India to create the Vedic culture where they became Hindus. Persian and Hindu culture has remarkable similarities. For instance they share the God Mitra- the God of friendship and light.
The name Eran was borrowed from Aryanam during the Sassanid Empire. This land of Aryanam was obliterated by the Rashidun Caliphate and Zoroastrian’s were gradually evicted from their homeland or they converted, often under duress. They were given Dhimmi status and like the Hindus subjected to Jizya tax. The Arab Conquest is 1350 years in AD old while the Aryanam civilisation is 2100 years old in BCE with a cultural presence going back another 2000 years . The western exonym of Persia was rescinded to Iran or Eran by the King Reza Shah Pahlavi in 1935 so as to keep some of the pre-Islamic culture alive and sweep away colonial remnants.
Ultimate damage began in 1979 with the Islamic revolution.
No one has any desire to destroy any civilisation only Irans nuclear bomb capabilities and the current oppressive regime. Both India and Israel love the Iranian people. We are all deeply connected by ancient history.
