Reflecting on International Men's Day and the conversations around it, one thing I'd encourage men to do more is LISTEN.

I've never been particularly drawn to the phrase, "It's okay to cry" (although, of course, it is). Instead, I'd urge fellow men to pay closer attention...

to the stories and frustrations of other men around us, the bikeman, the bus or Uber driver, the plumber, the colleague at the office, and many others.

We often tell men to "speak up," but that message means little if no one is genuinely interested in listening.

Growing up, one thing I always thought I couldn't do was draw because I believed I didn't have the talent for it. I always assumed that drawing couldn't be learned and that it was a skill you had to be born with.
