Wow.. no words to describe how I’m feeling right now. What a journey we have been on together and now again we can call Aston Villa EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS!! I never in my wildest dreams thought I would play for a club the size of Villa but to help lead them to a major European trophy makes me the proudest guy alive!! UP THE VILLA 💜💜💜
Amazing night!! Huge congratulations to all the players, team, staff and everyone connected to the club! 44 years since the last taste of European silverware!
Special shout out to Boubacar Kamara who has been out injured but is such an integral part of our team and helped lay the foundations of this success.

🗣️ Francesco Totti: "If Lionel Messi had been at Roma for 25 years, do you know how many Ballon d'Or awards he would have won? Zero. How could I have won one?" 🇮🇹
🗣️ Antonio Cassano: "It's your fault, you're an idiot, you should have gone to Madrid and you would have won some titles. (laughs)" 🤣
🗣️ Francesco Totti: "I don't care about winning, I won at Roma. I stayed for 25 years, this is my greatest victory."
If this is indeed the end, and I’m genuinely extremely sorry if that’s the case- it sounds like it is - then I still think this was a hell of a way to go out.
It’s was a heroic way to go and I loved him for it. I know many others did.
English cricket was lucky to have him.
- What if your favourite goals went on holiday?
- How do you mean?
- What if your favourite goals...
- Actual goals?
- ...went on holiday.
- Went on holiday?
- Yes, what if your favourite goals went on holiday.
- *quiet* what if my favourite goals went on holiday...
£18m wouldn’t buy you Super John McGinn’s huge value to Aston Villa in the dressing-room, setting standards, helping new players settle in and other roles as a highly respected club captain. £18m wouldn’t buy you anyone close as a replacement for McGinn on the pitch either. He played 49 times for Villa last season, started home and away against PS-G, even scoring. McGinn’s a leader in a sport not awash with them. He’s a battler and a good midfielder.
£18m doesn’t buy you a player with a year left on his contract, let alone two like McGinn. £18m is a low-ball offer, even if simply testing the water. Yes, he’s 30, but in a 16-man game nowadays, in a season that could stretch beyond 50 games, McGinn still has a major part to play, even if increasingly as an impact sub. Every team, every club needs a McGinn, an honest, hard-working pro.
Also, at a club like Villa with famous, historic Scottish roots (going back to Perthshire-born driving force William McGregor) it's a source of pride to have a Scotland international like McGinn representing them.
Any club interested in McGinn has to offer far more than £18m. A club as clued-up as Villa, and as well-run on the recruitment side, know McGinn’s value to them on and off the pitch. A contract extension surely awaits? #AVFC
Farage should never be interviewed without being forced to answer for failures of Brexit. That the man whose lies fuelled Brexit vote which has cost UK Billions & who said Liz Truss budget was “best Tory budget since 1986” could be trusted on *anything* is mind-boggling #bbclaura
Chris Woakes — 181 Test wickets @ 28.24
Might not blow your mind… until you realise:
In the last 50 years, only 2 English bowlers who've debuted since then have taken more wickets at a better average.
Criminally underated? Probably yes!! https://t.co/CpChVDblra
