I live with my wife Sue on our New Forest smallholding. We are lucky to live here. This is where I was born and have inherited the land from my parents.
I’ve asked the #GE2024 candidates who want to be my next MP to back the Climate & Ecology Bill. It’s our best hope of tackling the climate-nature crisis and building a more prosperous future for all. Will you join me? #CEBill@cebill_now https://t.co/SSa3RedhUS
Prince William says he wants to protect our planet, so I just signed the petition calling on @KensingtonRoyal to rewild parts of his newly inherited estate to help fight the climate crisis & increase Britain's biodiversity. Join me? https://t.co/Xexp6vOo7C via @38degrees
Just wondering if anyone out there has any success contacting @medwynsofangles no answer to phone and no response through website contact form. Maybe Gold medalist at vegetable growing but not even a bronze for customer care.
I've signed @WildlifeTrusts open letter asking @DefraGovUK & @transportgovuk to work together & urgently check #HS2 nature loss sums. New evidence shows they don't add up! #ReThinkHS2. Sign now https://t.co/95sGwPRgI6
A small scale experiment combining grazing Rye as green manure with ramial woodchip as mulch. The rye was sown after a potato crop was lifted. The chip and rye will be incorporated into the soil in the Spring. #rcw#ramialwoodchip#ramial#greenmanure#mulching#woodchipmulch
Once again Sarpo 'Mira' produce a fantastic crop. A very high proportion of 'bakers' - not too big, just right. The hot dry weather didn't seem to upset them although they did die down earlier than usual. We always wait to lift them until the soil has been thoroughly wetted.
The crispy dry New Forest 'Lawn' by our farm was covered this morning in fluffy down as though a duvet had spilled it's synthetic contents all over the place. Close inspection showed that each clump of fluff was associated with little piles of Rabbit poo.
Climbing French Beans (Cosse Violette) Slovenian style on single large Hazel poles. Excellent weed control with ramial wood chip. In my garden in the New Forest #ramialwoodchip#hazel#coppiceproducts#rcw
WILD ISLES. I’m excited to share news of this major new @BBCOne natural history series, a unique collaboration between @wwf_uk , @Natures_Voice & the @OpenUniversity. Presented by #SirDavidAttenborough, the series will showcase UK's spectacular wildlife like never before...
Around the garden in the rain there are smells that have been latent for weeks suddenly released. Petrichor the first to catch my attention. Then Curry plant and we don't even have one, sweet lovely smells like the Phlox that are still wilted but know the rain has come.
The Linaria I cut back a couple of weeks ago are already flowering again and the late sown Clary is doing its bright, slightly gaudy thing. There's a bit of Hebe foliage in there as well as Statice and a droopy bit of Pheasant Berry. Vase/Jug by @sharonn… https://t.co/yCg7zBF4OM
