the language of affirmation and inclusion is failing us in this moment. trans people don’t need gender markers to “affirm” the gender we “identify as”. accurate sex/gender markers are needed for our protection, physical safety, and access to basic services and rights.

it would be so powerful if the men’s usa hockey team apologized for their behavior. even if a single player came forward and said they were caught up in the moment but they shouldn’t have laughed and they regret their actions. but none of them have bc none of them care
