Brazilian influencer Bianca Barreto was convicted after deliberately calling transgender politician Duda Salabert a man and using male pronouns.

In July 2026, a Brazilian court ruled the comments amounted to transphobic discrimination, which Brazilian law treats under its racism framework.

Barreto was sentenced to two years in an open regime and ordered to pay around $3,800 in damages. The ruling remains subject to appeal.
