This is a wonderfully varied, client-facing role. You’ll be out on the road meeting people in their homes, appraising antiques, fine art, jewellery and collectables, and bringing treasures back to our Etwall saleroom to go under the hammer.
I’m looking for someone with a real passion for objects and their stories – and the confidence to represent Hansons with warmth and professionalism wherever you go.
This would be a full-time role (part time hours considered)
🧠 Key Skills:
A strong, broad knowledge of antiques & collectables
Excellent communication and client service skills
Experience in the auction industry preferred

A Greek gold, rock crystal and garnet box bezel ring Hellenistic period, circa 3rd-2nd century B.C.
Went on auction on the 2nd July 2025, estimated valuation before the auction was £8-12k, sold for £100 800.
Must have been an intense auction.
My somewhat boojie cabinet arrived from a well-known auction house. They hadn’t cared to scrutinise let alone remove the detritis. The thimble is 18 carat gold set with pearls. Another vendor unknowingly failed by the negligence of an auctioneer.
