deeply moved by the courage of Iranian players, coaches, and fans at the World Cup in the heart of the evil empire that is trying to destroy their country
Victor Wembanyama (in French) says he wasn’t ready to win a ring yet and made too many mistakes:
🇫🇷: Victor, first of all, congratulations on your season and your team's season. Looking back at the series, Mitch said just before that he felt you weren't ready to win a championship and that the other team was. Do you agree with that? And what exactly do you think was missing in this series?
👽: Obviously. Obviously we weren't ready. I wasn't ready to win a ring. That's obvious. I think in terms of desire to do well, intensity and effort, we were at a good level. I was at a good level. But experience... it's mistakes. We don't lack talent, we don't lack ability, we just make too many mistakes. And I make too many mistakes.

A trillionair, yet his name does not appear on a single school, university, library, museum wing, hospital, stadium, arena, airport, or endowed chairs. What a colossal waste of a human lifetime.
We live in a staggeringly beautiful world and all these violent halfwits are like "we gotta bomb this." I heard three Louisiana Waterthrushes singing today. Fuck war.
You ever read a book and you’re like “holy shit this is my favorite book” and then they make a movie of it and you’re like “I hope they don’t screw it up” and then the movie comes out and you’re like “holy shit they didn’t screw it up and this is one of my favorite movies ever”?
this was the most important Oscar speech of the night tbh
"Mr. Nobody Against Putin is about how you lose your country. What we saw when working with this footage is that you lose it through countless small, little acts of complicity: when we act complicit when a government murders people on the streets of our major cities, when we don't say anything when oligarchs take over the media and control how we can produce it and consume it, we all face a moral choice. But luckily even a nobody is more powerful than you think."
today my anatomy professor was discussing PTSD. he only mentioned male combat soldiers and failed to discuss that in reality more women than men develop ptsd, and that women who have ptsd suffer with it an avg of 4x longer than men with ptsd, and the biggest risk factor for developing ptsd (across both genders) is being a victim of grape, SA, & ab\/se the medical neglect women face begins at the educational level; in pursuing my degree i've observed it multiple times. professors need to do better. women deserve better.
older generations had something we will never get back. time. bad news traveled slow. by the time fear reached you half the problems had already resolved themselves. the world was heavy but it moved at a human pace. they had places to disappear to. a corner of the world where nothing could reach them. we have wars updating in real time. ai reshaping everything faster than we can process it. notifications that make sure global anxiety lands in your pocket before your morning coffee. there is nowhere to go anymore. every corner of the world is connected to every problem in the world. and we are expected to just carry it all and function normally.
