In the next 24 months, @apple will buy an online-first DAW and add it to GarageBand, effectively turning GarageBand from a desktop app for solo creators to an online one based on collaboration and AI/ML. Comments welcome. 9/9

DAWs (digital audio workstations) have bucked the trend of moving from the desktop to the cloud. I went looking for online DAWs, and the only one that seemed fully baked was from @spo`tify with @soundtrap. @getsonuum looks promising but isn't ready. 1/9

Music is going to become more machine learning and AI driven, and for that the DAW creators will want to record each editing step along the way to create the training data - something made easier when all the data lives on the server. 7/9
