The junta in SE Burma is targeting young women and girls, says @HURFOM. Over the last week, two women were abducted. In addition, Mon women's groups are reporting an increase in cases of child sexual abuse with no action being taken by the authorities.

A new report from the Burmese Women's Union notes women have always been at the forefront of pro-democracy movements. The Spring Revolution is no exception: "the movement cannot neglect the important role that grassroots women have played in this effort."
1) The Burmese military do not deserve any credit for releasing people who should never have been jailed in the first place.
2) These releases don't mean the military is softening, it means they want something, or got something.
