🇦🇷🎥 Five minutes into the game, Diego Simeone was already having doubts about the formation. With Julián and Sørloth unavailable, and David lacking match fitness, Simeone had been forced to use Lookman as the No. 9.

Simeone said to his coaching staff: “If he plays there, it won’t work. We have to get him out of there [the No. 9 role].”

Simeone then called over Lookman and Kang-in Lee: “Lookman. Look! Lookman, over there on the left. 4-3-3. Over there. On the left. You [Kang-in], as the nine. You as the nine. 4-3-3. Kang-in, inside, go! Inside."

The change in shape didn’t immediately improve Atlético’s performance. It wasn’t until Koke, Cardoso and David came on that the game began to turn — especially Koke, who completely changed the game.
