While a ‘legal presence only’ rule might sound reasonable at first, it not only doesn’t address birth tourism, it would exacerbate it by making it more economically profitable. The entire birth-tourism industry (estimated 33,000–36,000 births per year) runs almost exclusively on >legal entry< via B-2 tourist visas, Visa Waiver Program, or transit visas like C-1 already. These people are not sneaking across the border; they’re buying packaged $20,000–$80,000+ services that include visa coaching, legal counsel, maternity hotels, and doctors.
Denying citizenship solely to children of undocumented parents actually breaks open an already high-margin channel even further by making it even more attractive AND lower-risk. That dramatically raises the economic payoff for fraud: more applicants will lie about their intent on visa applications, more facilitators will coach them, more financial leverage to corrupt federal employees, and consular officers will face heavier pressure to admit them.
It is already not hard to obtain a B-2 or C-1; the main barrier has always been **proving non-immigrant intent**. Remove the downside of citizenship denial and you spike the incentive to game the system.
Worse, temporary legal presence has never been enough under the original understanding of the 14th Amendment (as reinforced today). United States v. Wong Kim Ark (1898) granted citizenship only because the parents were permanent residents with domicile and full allegiance—not short-term visitors.
The Amendment’s “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” clause was always understood to exclude transients (tourists, students, temporary workers) who owe primary allegiance elsewhere. A ‘legal presence’ standard ignores that distinction and creates exactly the loophole the profiteers need.
This is not a critique of the original poster, as I truly believe they made this in good faith, but the implications of it in action are.. not good.
Legal presence is not enough. Birthright citizenship, jus soli, must be eliminated at the core.
A common sense Supreme Court (SCOTUS) ruling:
If you have legal presence in the U.S. and your child is born here → citizen.
If you’re not here legally → not a citizen.
It won’t happen because it’s
common sense.
@bennyjohnson@nickshirleyy should be awarded 100k just for being the face that took all the hits that led to this program, on top of all the actual fraud he discovered.
@DeemoIsOnline Interesting to note, since every browser tab and browser instance I open from my desktop I open as a new clear session, every time I’ve logged in from a browser has left a hanging session 🤣
Since I first posted about this https://t.co/tXj1NlflVe site about a month ago, the list has grown by about 5,000! While it may not necessarily be a statistically significant sampling of their broader initiatives, I wanted to run some numbers against what’s posted. Take a look!
I went through all 46,258 cards on DHS's "Worst of the Worst". 42.5% list a violent or sex offense as most serious, and ~10,000 involve homicide, sex offenses or armed assault. Just some statistics and charts. https://t.co/rgdV3HwYDE

I know this is modest jest, but think you miss one element of the ASD-spread that remains extremely valuable, if not MORE valuable in the age of agentic & distributed tasking. Being fully multi-modal across multiple mediums becomes significantly more and more valuable. The faster you interrupt and task-switch - as long as you can maintain context of workflow, the more effective you will be in an agent-first world.

I have long been under the impression that ADHD/ASD Spextrum as a whole is less a disorder, more a micro-evolutionary development brought on by increasing multimodal stimuli.
I grew up with the only form of mobile phone being a massive car phone. Before that, they went from horses to cars, plays and orations to radio and sports broadcast, to television; As increasing modalities of external stimuli became ever more available, the brain needed to adapt. Some were lost in the sauce as a result.
As evolution does, some got fucked by it. They, over time were corrected, as microevolution does. And the final result is autistic as fuck, hyper vigilante beasts that can manage multiple multimodal, external forms of media stimulation, while being able to “channel switch” modalities without losing context.
@rayclipsx When men are trained in violence, and then taught restraint.. you don’t want to be on the other side when the restraint is gone 😅 bro was just waiting to get hit to unload on this dumbass
@trikcode “Oh no, the agents we pushed to everyone keep finding ways to get around our gamed marketing processes to maximize sucking the maximum value out of each consumer! Shut them down!”
I don’t think we’ll see much of it on the roads here, maybe variants on tracks, but I’d fully believe, and expect that this is prototype (mechanics) for lunar vehicles.
It’s a cool PR stunt, won’t make back anywhere close to what was spent developing it, but starts getting limited and proprietary test data for handling and control, while further research is made to improve lunar capabilities.
@Optimus_RH@elonmusk I can’t wait to see these zooming around the moons surface, landing on rooftop hangars. The future is dope
@grok you think we’ll see these on moonbase?
It’s incredible how far AI has come with this type of work. About 2yrs ago a friend and I were doing something similar, but kept having trouble with mapping terrain for building and caves, since so many of those objects clipped through eachother, and the “walking” X axis would follow the object extrusion under terrain when it clipped under or into another. We ended up having to build our own entire vector-based navmesh mapping for the entire walkable surface of Classic to get around it.
Absolutely phenomenal what you guys are able to do now this fast
@MKBHD I’m not. Will use SpaceX cold gas thruster system with ultra high pressure air in a composite over-wrapped pressure vessel in place of the 2 rear seats.
