MPA student & MPASA President Maryam Faiq Gardiwal represented Afghan women at the HearUs Summit in Spain, moderating panels and presenting UN accountability recommendations focused on justice and human rights.

Drs. Oliveira & Culatta presented at the Annual SSS Meeting in Jacksonville, FL. The presentation was titled, “Effects of Differential Contact with the Criminal Justice System on Mental Health Outcomes.” Dr. Culatta is Recording Secretary for the Society’s Executive Committee.
Dr. Mary-Kate Lizotte works with intersectional lenses on gender gaps and politics.

Dr. Emily Boykin (Dodd) is an expert in public management, public budgeting and finance, and public policy. View her recent work on our Town & Gown page.
Dr. Boykin spends time with her husband and dog when she’s not writing, staying active, or reading in her spare time.
Dr. Foley’s researches feminist criminology, violence prevention, and community‑oriented justice. View her recent works on Town & Gown.
Dr. Foley lives local with her partner who works as an electrician at AU. Two daughters, 9 & 12, keep them busy, and they love a road trip.
Dr. Melissa Bemiller studies patterns surrounding criminal deviance and how to prevent them (work available on our Town & Gown page).
She and her husband enjoy weekend hiking and local exploring. They are co-directors of ARK Animal Shelter, a no-kill, cage-free cat rescue.
