@SkarredGhost Yeah, good review! Thanks. Now I feel that I don't miss out on this one (for now). It seems that even great resolution and low weight as highlights don't prevail with the visual bugs or quality issues on the hinge. Theatre handle is fun for expos, but missing audio fails epic!

Devices with "mega" and "x" in its name feel like vapourware to me. Okay, Tony bring it on! Lets see!

At AWE Europe I've been able to try the latest headset announced by Shiftall: a 4K x 4K eye resolution device called MeganeX Superlight 8K. Is it any good? Discover it in my latest hands-on!

Microsoft sweeping and cleaning their offering. Too bad for #WindowsMR users being left alone. Luckily we never opted for it in our projects. 😇

[UploadVR @UploadVR]

Windows MR headsets no longer function at all with Windows 11 24H2.

If you own one and want to keep using it, do not install the update:

#AR and #MR dead for #Microsoft. Final good-bye to Hololens hardware confirmed. Oh, well. We had fun, Microsoft... But sad to see that I have to always go video-see-through for #AR now... #Quest3 I don't see a proper replacement coming along soon...

On Friday, Microsoft announced the End of Life for HoloLens 2 as Dec 31, 2027 and a "Last Time Buy" to their Mixed Reality Partner Program. The end of life for HoloLens (1st Gen) is Dec 10, 2024, devices will "continue to function, however will no longer receive security updates or technical support."

Totally agreed. Apple destroyed the right mouse button way back, now they try to limit us in SPATIAL computing...

[Gabriele Romagnoli @GabRoXR]

#VisionPro pushes for far interactions but is that the best way?

With gaze and pinch, #Apple seems to discourage developers from implementing more direct hand interactions into their experiences.

There are certainly some advantages but I thought the whole purpose of #VR and #spatialcomputing was to be immersed and feel like you are interacting with #digital objects as if they were real.

I am even more convinced after testing this SDK from SpectreXR that takes advantage of the Nvidia physics engine to make hand interactions feel more natural.

Would you use more direct interactions like in the video or stick with far gaze+pinch?

[Toby on AR @augmentedorg]

Damn, it's about time. My first hands-on trial. I love the pass-through quality! All very pretty, but as of today no need for a B2B case. #avp #hannovermesse #hm24

[Toby on AR @augmentedorg]

The lag still kind-of prevents speedy paper scissors stone games, but a great progress on virtual representation by #Apple and its #AppleVisionPro #avp: https://t.co/jSv1xhq1YN

Looking good! But why so ghosty?

Still time to submit your papers! Can't wait to find out what's been happening in the research field, lately! #ismar #ar #vr #mr #spatialcomputing
