Long thread, but important: John Deere workers have reached out to me frustrated about media repeating company talking points that workers make 60-70k a year. One who's been there over a decade showed me what they made in 2020: Under $40k. So let’s talk about wages at John Deere.

.@hgsuuaw is on a 3-day strike to DEMAND @Harvard provide student workers real recourse, health benefits, $ & a union shop. We need to support workers on strike so they can win stronger contracts and lift up expectations of contracts for all workers https://t.co/LrRJp5sbFm
Mayoral elections nationwide are a battleground over the future of criminal justice. Next week, voters in Buffalo, Boston, Cincinnati, and Atlanta, among others, will elect new leaders that will have huge sway over policing and other key policies. https://t.co/70a31Y1lLO
When we published this video report from @GrimKim in May, the Warrior Met Coal strike was a month old. Almost six months later, the workers are still holding strong, despite escalating legal and PR attacks from the company. https://t.co/yWnnP1RIiY
If an abusive partner is controlling your finances, your whereabouts and who you socialize with, they're likely going to control your reproductive choices, too. And S.B. 8 just made it a lot easier for them to do that. https://t.co/I2inha4tgA
You’ve probably heard that 309K women left the workforce last month.
What you likely haven’t: 196K were millennial women, & there were 890K fewer millennial women in the labor force compared w Feb 2020.

“Ms. Poolaw’s case is a tragedy. She has suffered the trauma of pregnancy loss, has been jailed for a year and half during a pandemic, and was charged and convicted of a crime without basis in law or science,” @NAPW said in a news release.

None of the nearly 9,000 corporate-owned Starbucks locations in the U.S. are unionized. A push in the Buffalo area could change that — but backers say moves by management are having a chilling effect. https://t.co/Wm5OVoa9vT
Behind every smiling cop who makes a quilt out of signs made by unhoused people, there is a smiling DA pursuing charges, a smiling judge setting cash bail, a smiling mayor who pays cops overtime for post-arrest quilting, and a serious news anchor who calls it all "public safety."
Solidarity to our comrades in @HowardUYDSA who are taking action to demand student representation on the Board of Trustees and an end to the housing crisis on campus. Send some solidarity and much needed supplies to the #BlackburnTakeover at https://t.co/P4cTjy4XbD
1. The sudden interest in school boards is not an organic grassroots movement of angry parents.
It is an effort orchestrated by seasoned right-wing political operatives who have formed a constellation of well-funded groups.

Striking John Deere workers in Ottumwa, Iowa, tell us that there are over 120 people on the picket line. Restaurants are bringing down food for picketing workers and giving in-store discounts to union members, and Teamsters and UPS workers are refusing to cross the picket line.
