i think the reason jimin is glowing so much these days is because he’s finally leaned into loving himself in his most authentic form and that’s a type of magnetism that just radiates off a person
@benfyp People praise BTS for their sound, performances, impact and stage presence all the time, but Namjoon’s pen is literally stitched into the soul of BTS. The reason so many of their songs hit so deeply is because he writes emotions the way most people can only feel them in silence.
i’m glad joon talked about how he really cares about lyrics and how important it is to read/understand them. i genuinely think everyone should take a trip to doolset’s page and read the lyrics for arirang and their other works
🐨 I was thinking, what is normal to me? Some say they love me, some don't, it's like a toxic relationship
🐨 The people who love us are also like that, sometimes they love us, sometimes they hate us, and show whatever they want to
🐨 I wrote NORMAL while thinking of that
🐨 As for One More Night I don't think it's a greaaat song, but just a sweet and somewhat sad song
I felt like the album shouldn't necessarily have only masterpieces so this had to be in there
🐨 I remember Hobi not liking this song *laughs*, I do love his verse a lot though
🐨 Personally, I still believe in the powder of lyrics
🐨 As someone who was saved by an artist's words and melody...
🐨 While doing solo works I think I learned how to share a story through just music, without having to write it out in words
🐨 The lyrics about our pride in being Koreans, I could have written them in a more poetic and showy way. But I had to complement the phonetic style of the existing lines and this song is really just saying "We're aliens, so what?" And with our international ARMYs singing along, there can be an interesting transference, a reversal.
🐨 And so I think I had hopes that more people would know about these lyrics, whether as a meme or as mockery, since the lyrics speak out directly.
🐨 As I'm not a native English speaker, I worked with songwriters from the US because there were parts I wanted to make sure would work well. Body To Body was originally called Body On Body and it was very sexual. Sort of "I need some body on body", I think you get the idea. It was a sexual song and we could do a sexual song, why not, we're 30yrs old. But we also didn't want to do a song that was sexual for no reason. So we thought of Hand To Hand, the song by Koreana from 1988 Olympics, and we changed it to Body To Body. We wanted an anthem like that.
After hearing joon talk about how they all met up at jimin's house on jin's military discharge day now it makes sense why their eyes looked all puffy it wasn't because they were drunk its because they cried that day
🐨 There are a lot of times when Jimin and I have diametric views and I thought this song absolutely had to be included, because this was the only song that I thought had the sound that could properly show the kind of choreography and intense performance that we've done that people liked so much. But for Jimin and our vocalists, it was difficult for them because, if you listen to 2.0, there is only one melody for them. "You know how we do do do do do." But to give life to that line is really difficult. The note is really high and the flavor of the language is very difficult. You have to have an understanding of Black music or you have to be from that world to digest/embody that melody. It was written by Charles. And it was difficult for us guys from Korea to digest it and this was the hardest to do in the whole album for our vocalist members, 2.0. And so some of them felt awkward or weren't satisfied with the way they sang it.
🐨 There was a lot of discussions about taking it out right up until the setlist was decided. I think Taehyung felt that way too. I and someone else--who was it?--we said no way. No way. In the end, it worked out this way. It's a relief that what I said turned out to be the case and the members now really like it a lot.

Taehyung is genuinely the funniest person alive. In the Military he was on his first night guard duty and was asked for password (signal to identify friend from foe) and because the previous guard didn’t provide him with the intel he just made up his own password. Supervisor asks for password:
🪖: Chris?
🐻: Mas!
