Southern University Athletics remembers Coach Roger Cador — a Hall of Fame coach, championship builder, mentor, and true pillar of Jaguar Nation.

For 33 seasons, Coach Cador transformed Southern Baseball into one of the nation’s premier HBCU programs, capturing 2 HBCU National Championships, 14 SWAC Championships, 11 NCAA Regional appearances, and developing generations of student-athletes.

But his greatest legacy was not measured in wins or trophies — it was measured in the lives he impacted.

A Jaguar forever. A legend forever. 🐆⚾

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Cador family, former players, coaches, and all who were touched by his extraordinary life.

After 24 incredible seasons leading Jaguar Tennis, we celebrate Coach Jeffrey Conyers and the lasting impact he has made on Southern University Athletics.

As he retires from coaching, he will move into a role within the athletic department.

#Southern's newest addition to the quarterback room, Christian Johnson, won an NJCAA national championship in 2024 and led Hutchinson CC to a JUCO national championship appearance in 2025.

He finished 2025 with 2,706 yards of total offense, 29 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
