Back to back awards for Auld Distillery at the 2023 NZ Arable Awards held in Christchurch last night, winners of the Innovation award in 2022 Toni and Rob Auld of Auld Farm Distillery took out this years Arable Food Champion award. A very humbling recognition indeed 🏆 🙂👍🥃

At Auld Distillery we look to the future. We’re taking the raw materials our land provides and adding in a splash of curiosity to craft something entirely new.

At Auld Distillery we’re working to create a legacy. Rob’s grandparents and his parents always believed that they were the custodians of the land. We also want to preserve this land for the next generation – using it to create something new and exciting for the future.

Warm Autumn days with light winds and no rain make great harvesting conditions at Auld Farm. This year we’ve been lucky to have an excellent growing season, producing a superb crop of barley. Now that they've been harvested, our grains are stored, ready for malting.

For three generations the Auld family have been running the farm at Scotts Gap. From Robert Charles to Robert Wilton through to today’s Rob. He's pretty passionate about this piece of paradise and its potential for producing some of New Zealand’s best single malt whisky.

As well as our barley and wheat crops, we also run stock at Auld Farm. Meet Betty and June, just two of our many woolly friends.

At Auld Distillery we’re passionate about the process. From the barley grown in our rich Southland soil, to pure water sourced from our own on-farm spring, we can trace our ingredients all the way from seed to sip.

At Auld Farm, we only grow the best. We work with top barley breeders to ensure we get the best seeds specifically for malting barley. We grow our crops with care, consideration for the environment and an emphasis on sustainability.
