Los alumnos de secundaria, hace unos años, tendían a separarse en tres grupos claramente diferenciados: una élite de estudiantes, una clase media de supervivientes (el abolengo del mínimo esfuerzo) y una minoría de calientasillas sin oficio ni beneficio. Esto ha cambiado recientemente. La élite de estudiantes se ha reducido ostensiblemente a costa del aumento sin parangón de supervivientes y calientasillas, dos grupos que parecen condenados a confluir en el lugar común del fracaso escolar. Los supervivientes, que lo sigue siendo, la mayoría, porque se ha bajado el nivel hasta límites abisales, consideran (a veces acertadamente, a la vista de la exigencia) que estudiar consiste en pasear la mirada, entre vídeo de tik tok y vídeo de instagram, por textos que no comprenden y apuntes que no entienden a la espera de que surja por ósmosis el conocimiento. Son los que lloran porque han sacado un 2,3 en el examen y te replican que no puede ser porque han estado cinco horas estudiando: prefieren pasar por estúpidos a quedar como irresponsables. Pero bueno... Lloran, y replican, y eso significará que les importa. Porque a quienes no les importa, en absoluto, y consideran que un 2,3 no es del todo mala nota, es a esa clase, cada vez más numerosa, de los calientasillas. Son niños irresponsables y a menudo abandonados por padres ausentes, por familias desestructuradas y por un sistema cuya única respuesta a esa irresponsabilidad personal y a esa ausencia y desestructuración parental y familiar es fomentar el entretenimiento educativo a través de profesores cuya única función parece ser, cada vez más, achicar el agua de un barco condenado a la zozobra. Pero, al final, bajar el nivel, facilitar el trance educativo, lo único que consigue es empeorar la situación (cuanto menos se exige menos se obtiene) y dar una apariencia de normalidad al desastre social de una educación inútil e irrelevante.
