Making metabolomics accessible for all, with a focus on chronic pain. Think 23&Me beyond the genes—learn from your body chemistry to get well and stay well.
Yes, very important concepts! Pain Pt: You matter; you’re important; you’re valued! Study also demonstrates why the unjust discrimination against chronic pain pts ginned up by anti-opiate zealots is so harmful & damaging to pain pts! @KeithNHumphreys@AndrewKolodny@supportprop https://t.co/t2J3AmFYO1
The ultimate #metabolomics: tracking every atom going in an out of your body. The study found that participants on #calorie-restricted #diet used energy much more efficiently while sleeping than did the control group. https://t.co/rlBNPYFDWV
This is an important statement from the International Association for the Study of Pain. Welcome to the widespread realization of the revised role for #opioids. And thanks for the shout-out for a #BioPsychoSocial approach. https://t.co/cQidk5EDKD
"We need more sensitive, objective, and relevant ways to detect the onset, severity, and progression or stability of #neurological disorders."- @VerilyLife https://t.co/crl0kBTuUw #Parkinsons#microbiome@TBCMicrobes
There are better options to move away from #opioids than the forced cold turkey method, with its severe #withdrawal capable of pushing people over the edge https://t.co/bHStTwu5TE https://t.co/bv8r2gWLDt
New Stanford study suggests that a voluntary opioid tapering program may be a good strategy for many #opioid users with chronic pain: https://t.co/TaMFpBqppG #ChronicPain
Can you please share your experience with #pain diaries? Paper/electronic/app? What do you like about them, and what features do you feel are missing? https://t.co/CC6gaveAE4 #PatientExperience#chronicpain#spoonie
Alarming but excellent story by @KateNicholson14: https://t.co/E5E8KNzRu6 May sound ridiculous to those in #pain, but we need tools to document&prove the legitimate need for pain meds. Sometimes #opioids is what allows you to function!

@RxProfessor This is a conversation about pain management after workplace injuries, right? Could you please suggest some articles that highlight the current state of affairs and problems in #WorkComp?
Chronic pain causes depression and depression causes chronic pain. Some pts treat depression with opioids. Though certainly not recommended, opioids may well be temporarily effective for depression. A next generation of antidepressants may address the endogenous opioid system.
Sir Alexander Fleming announced his discovery of the mold byproduct penicillin on this day in 1929. His paper only tentatively suggested that penicillin “may be an efficient antiseptic” against some bacteria. #ValentinesDay
@FreeMeFibro Hi Annie, sorry to hear you’re in pain. I’m not qualified to give this kind of advice but my hunch is that the absorption of the two are related only in that they are both fat-soluble vitamins and what helps with D will also help with K
