A final piece of advice from Holly Butcher - written the day before she passed away from cancer at just 27:

“It’s a strange thing knowing you’re going to die young.

At 26, I thought I had time…
To fall in love.
Start a family.
Grow old.

But cancer doesn’t care about plans.

Now, I understand how fragile life really is. Every single day is a gift, not a guarantee.

I’m not writing this to scare you. I’m writing to remind you: really live.

Stop stressing over little things. Be kind to your body- move it, nourish it, stop criticizing it. One day you’ll wish you had appreciated it.

Go outside.
Look at the sky.
Feel the sun.
Just be.

Spend less time chasing “stuff” - more time making memories. Don’t skip moments with people you love.

Laugh more.
Write a note.
Tell someone you love them.

Complain less.
Give more.
Helping others brings more joy than anything you can buy.

Be present.
Put your phone down.
Show up - really show up.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need a perfect body, or a perfect life.

Just follow what makes your heart light up. Say no to what drains you. Make changes when you need to.

And please - donate blood. I wouldn’t have had that extra year without it. And that year gave me memories I’ll hold close… forever.

Adults:

Within 5-10 years after our kids graduate HS, most will become spouses, homeowners, parents, employees, business owners, etc.

Be careful of making the outcome of youth sporting events bigger than it is. It’s part of their growth. It’s part of their experience. It’s part of their process. That’s really it.

Keep it all in perspective. Breathe, control YOUR emotions and enjoy this temporary phase in THEIR life. It will be over before you know it.

Hillary Clinton is warning that 70 million women won’t be able to vote if they don’t oppose the SAVE Act.

This is flat-out fearmongering and a lie. The SAVE Act requires proof of U.S. citizenship (like a passport or birth certificate) when registering to vote in federal elections—nothing more. It doesn’t ban married women from voting or block them outright.

If your name changed after marriage and your birth certificate doesn’t match your current ID, you can simply provide your marriage certificate (or other name-change docs) alongside it to resolve the mismatch. That’s standard for things like getting a driver’s license, passport, or job—it’s not some impossible hurdle.

This is not what we do in Nebraska - this is not ok. The video of the girl being hit by a car at the school protest is disturbing.

While initial reports say that the girl was alert and talking when she was taken away, we are praying for her and her well being.

The incident needs to be fully investigated by law enforcement. It is critical that our country preserve the ability of people to safely protest.
