However, our results showed that Finn Party MPs, particularly leaders, play a substantial role in mention networks.
Hate speech targets all political parties, highlighting its visibility on a public platform like Twitter.
Retweet networks tend to be more fragmented and smaller, whereas mention networks exhibit wider group representation.
MPs' engagement with online hate groups shows distinct patterns. Only a few MPs from the Finn Party appear in retweet networks with limited influence.
We studied hate speech across these two groups in the Finnish political context on Twitter over the past 5 years. We identified different patterns of spread and engagement with hate speech.
