This current terrible situation in Pakistan brings to mind the story of Joseph who was thrown into jail even though he was known to be innocent because it suited the agenda of those with corrupt power.

Joseph was loved so much by Zulaikah, that her husband (and minister) decided to keep temptation away and avoid disruption to the social order, and so threw him in jail. Same here (in Pakistan): the military knows that the people are in love with Imran Khan, so they have decided to follow the same strategy to keep the people's beloved out of sight and try to let things calm down. Yesterday in its detailed verdict, the Supreme Court declared my arrest on 9th May completely unlawful and unconstitutional.

The protests that happened across the country post my arrest only took place after an illegal and unconstitutional act was committed by abducting me from the precincts of the High Court.

The question that needs to be asked is, has anyone been held accountable for illegally arresting me? Was DG NAB or Interior Minister questioned for commiting an unconstitutional act?

Instead, in reaction when people came out and exercised their constitutional right to protest peacefully against my abduction, it was used as a pretext to start a crackdown against my party.
Within 48 hours, over 10,000 of my workers and leaders were picked up and attacked.

Therefore, I reiterate, whenever any independent inquiry takes place, I will prove that from my arrest to the arson and then the crackdown, everything was preplanned only to keep me and my party out of the elections.

The arrest of Imran Khan on charges of corruption is so clearly unjustified. The majority of balance-minded Muslims know that the politics of Pakistan has for years been allowing corruption to flourish in the shadows, behind party doors. Now someone has risen who speaks out against it, we are forced to watch the charade continue as he is locked up.
