Both METAR and NOTAM considered, and with no emergent reasons to resort to the alternative routes listed in the flight plan, the Captain informed his co-Pilot of his decision to rule out route diversions approaching Henri Coanda.

We expect to arrive in Otopeni, Romania at 0050 local time. The temperature at our destination now is 30 degrees Celsius, with a bit of an overcast. In a few minutes we will be passing over Hong Kong. You can view the region on either side of the aircraft.

Reaching the required transition altitude of 11,000 feet MSL, further instructions were given along with the acceleration of the aircraft to the optimal climb speed of 350 kts. “LY020 contact Hong Kong Approach on Wun-Wun-Niner decimal Wun.” Sterile Period has ended.

“LY020 contact Clark Radar Director Wun-Wun-Tree decimal Wun.” Frequency switch. “Radar Director, LY020 passing Flight Level 60. Climbing Flight Level 140.” This was the First Officer.

and suddenly the aircraft was on the precipice of its initial climb, the nose lifted from the asphalt and the ground disappearing from view in replacement of orange skies. “Gear up,” he’d instruct his co-Pilot.
ㅤ
ㅤ
@rylerskates @Iimawasa @nabiforyou ㅤ
“LY020 contact Tower on Wun-Two-Four decimal Tree. Hold short of RWY 20L.” Certainly not a flock. Heavens no. After the frequency switch; “Clark Tower, LY020. Ready for departure. RWY 20L.”
ㅤ
ㅤ
@rylerskates @Iimawasa @nabiforyou ㅤ
“Clark Tower, LIGHTYEAR Zero-Two-Zero. Ready for departure. Runway Two-Zero Left.” Watch out for migratory birds, the report said. Past the glare of the setting sun and the dark haze of his sunglasses, he didn’t really know what he was expecting to see past the fences.

@rylerskates @Iimawasa @nabiforyou ㅤ
“Roger. The towbar is disconnected and the equipment is cleared. We will see you on the right.” Both salute the guideman below.

Immediately the Autostart System was active, the numbers climbing as both engines booted up. And with the pushback process complete, the parking brakes were re-set by him and communicated by the First Officer.

ㅤ
@rylerskates @Iimawasa @nabiforyou ㅤ
The checklist accomplished, the Captain initiated the frequency switch, fingers pushing into the slightly concave buttons. “Cockpit to ground.” Not a minute later: “Go ahead, flight deck.” He nodded at his First Officer, passing over the comms.

In a few minutes or less, they’d be cleared to taxi and the Captain needed everyone back to their seats and securely locked in. He reached for the bright red latch, signaling the crew to assist the passengers to return to their respective seats.
ㅤ
ㅤ
ㅤ
Lastly, the NOTAM which read, ‘TWY E, TWY E1, TWY E2, TWY F1, TWY F2, TWY F3 and TWY G (BTN TWY F7 and TWY E2) WIP (repair and maintain works of grounded underground power line). Exercise caution when taxiing near the area.’
ㅤ
ㅤ
ㅤ
Then he had to program the Flight Management System, entering the necessary information with regards to their planned route: RPLC and LROP, RWY 20L, LY020; flying TAREM Departure off 331° and climbing to cross CIA DVOR/DME R331 into AVMUP.
