When incessantly hype $UBER being cheap to Free Cash Flow without understanding that part of it is permanently dilutive SBC and part of it is literally not free via insurance reserves everyone can see that you don’t know what you’re talking about.
It’s funny watching people get wealthy by doing something with unreal discipline, hard work, and a long term mindset ….
And then sell out to a gambling platform where insiders make 98% of the winnings and common people lose their shirt.

Druckenmiller bought $SE at $145
And then added to his position at $100-$110
If he liked it at $145
He loved it at $110
$ASTS we first started adding at $24
We WANTED to buy a lot more when it was above $100 but it was not the right entry
When it hit $80 we added and were very happy
But when it hit the mid $50’s we went in heavy.
You need to know what you are buying and how long you intend to hold for
Otherwise you won’t have conviction and you’ll get triggered during cycles
Every single position we are heavy in, we know every bit of information about it
$SE ShopeeVIP has gone from 1M to 15M members within 18 months, and there is substantial runway still, with 96.25% of active users yet to be converted.
Using a weighted average calculation, I estimate ShopeeVIP’s monthly membership fee to be $1.44. That is on the extreme low-range in comparison to e-commerce membership programs around the world.
Yes, owing to the demographics of where Shopee operates, we should expect them to be in the bottom 50-percentile of fees even in its eventual state. Yet, there is substantial room for growth.
ShopeeVIP’s membership program has a ~80% retention rate, an incredible feat considering how new it is. This is thanks to Monee’s credit cards, without which this would be impossible.
A good comparison would be the $CPNG Coupang WOW membership program. It was priced at ₩2,900 ($2.12) when it first launched in early 2019. About 3 years in, they hiked prices by 72% to ₩4,990 ($3.65) in Dec 2021. Another price hike was introduced in April 2024, with prices raised by 58% to ₩7,890 ($5.77).
In total, this equated to a cumulative price hike of 172% for the WOW membership program. Along the way, members got more perks, from Coupang Play, to Coupang Eats and special shopping events.
Shopee is still early on in its phase, with <4% of active users having subscribed to the program. That said, due to ShopeeVIP’s 80% monthly retention rate, I believe it is very plausible that we could see Shopee introduce price hikes much earlier than 3 years in.
If we assume ShopeeVIP hikes prices by 172% too, it would cost $3.91, leaving it in the middle of the pack. That seems like a very plausible future to me.
At this point, if your perspective on how AI will be adopted by the middle of the curve is based on model performance, you are wildly, wildly off base. Just consider this…we still have human umpires in baseball. The bottleneck ain’t model capability
Read the @hkuppy article “Datacenters Are the New Shale Oil…”
The article itself is fun, but his recollection of talking to shale CEOs back then was hilarious. This part was absolute gold.
Grew up in Chi. Huge PCA fan. Season is unreal but it’s literally amazing how good the Brewers have been. Have barely given up ground. Cubs are going to have a tough time in long series in playoffs with their bullpen.
