Stella the Golden Retriever survived what deputies described as an extremely disturbing beating. A judge has now given the man convicted in the case the maximum prison sentence of 5 years in prison.
In MARTIN COUNTY, FLORIDA, Martin County, 24-year-old man DONALD STICKENS received the maximum prison sentence allowed for his charge of felony animal cruelty after a brutal attack on Stella.
Jail sentences needed for ALL animal abuse!!!
This piece of shit Donald Stickens took his girlfriend’s 9-year-old golden retriever named Stella and beat the hell out of her. Lifted her clean off the ground by the leash around her neck, dropped her, then punched her in the head over and over. Doorbell camera caught every second of it outside the apartment they shared.
Stella made it through but she paid for it. Torn knee ligament, probably worse on the inside. People who saw it said this wasn’t even the first time he went after her.
He got the max. Five years in state prison for felony animal cruelty. Good. Real good.
Guys like this don’t belong walking around free. Hope the boys in general population remind him what real consequences feel like.
Cowards who swing on dogs deserve every bit of what’s coming to them.
Stella’s safe now with her owner and living her life.
Stickens can rot.

Let me tell you a story about Tyrion Rexford
It is a story of neglect by NYCACC
Tyrion Rexford sat in a cage for 25 days, no one paid him any attention. We had to beg for photos.
ACC gave us photos, the day they decided to Kill List him.
Now to @NYCMayor to @NYCHealthCommr this does not matter that their taxpayer facility neglects & abuses dogs. Kills them. Does it matter to @NYCCouncil@SpeakerMenin@HarveyforNY@nypost we will find out.
NYCACC has the nerve to tell you he gets aroused, mounting handlers; then they tell you he is highly social & affectionate.
Well the arousal is a lack of proper care at NYCACC always using drugs in place of proper exercise, enrichment & networking him for a home.
#RisaWeinstock tells you she is tired of "Warehousing Dogs" but I do not believe it. If she was tired she would do much more to find them homes instead of a "proper" waiting period & all that KILLING she does!
This Tyrion Rexford, he is beautiful. He is friendly, social, active, healthy and looking for a home.
Do not give #NYC another statistic, another KILL

James the ex-lab beagle is scared of a blueberry.
It's funny for a sec, then it hits you:
At Ridglan, new things meant pain.
We're teaching him that's no longer the case. And he makes progress every day!
Eros was in a dog culling van and was to be shot. Since his rescue Eros has been undergoing treatment as his body condition was so poor. This senior boy has had a hard life on the streets and would love someone to sponsor him for £20 per month. If interested please DM 🙏🏼

Would you save a dog you couldn't cure?
After surviving catastrophic injuries, Izzy was diagnosed with terminal illness
Many would have walked away, we didn't.
We measure dogs lives in happiness ❤️🐾
You might not recognise her as she looks so well now - Pearl is pawficially adopted and loving literally everyone she meets! 🥳🥳🥳
Pearl came to us at the end of March. Her previous owner was not well, and had unintentionally neglected her. Please no judgement, this is her happy ending.
Pearl hadn't been socialised or toilet trained and wasn't used to walking on the lead so would pull.
We found her a foster home with one of our regular foster families who took her in for a couple of weeks before her trial offer came through from Angela and her family. They have now adopted her into their family forever and had this to say about her 👇

Fergus. When I first came across the Lancram kill shelter, I raised money and sponsors to get this really timid boy out for a rescuer who wanted to take him. This was before I took dogs out myself. He broke my heart when I saw him in Lancram.
I found out a few days ago that he was moved to a hellhole a couple of months ago. A private shelter run by one of the most evil women you'd ever meet.
The shelter has been raided. There are many starving and injured dogs 😔 some have died. Looking through the videos I saw Fergus 😔 lying in a plastic bed surrounded by 💩
My heart broke for him. To think he was saved from the hell of Lancram to end up in a place that was supposed to care for him yet is as bad. It was 4 years ago I raised money for him. I cannot forget him or leave him now.
Please will you help me get him to Oana and safety and love 🙏
I won't share the full video as it is horrific. Here is a still from it of Fergus. Please help this helpless boy with me.

Norman is critical.
Despite having broken back and hip he was also being eaten alive by ticks.
He has Hemolytic anemia and is in critical condition.
Sadly the blood transfusion had no effect (before this diagnosis ) and is now back in hospital on another treatment to try and save his life.
It’s going to be hard.
Send him love 🙏🏻❤️
A Story of Miracle ❤️
Three years ago, we rescued this beautiful soul after he was hit by a vehicle and left to die on the side of the road.
He was dragging himself through unbearable pain and agony. His hips were fractured, his spine was severely injured, and the doctors feared he would never walk again. They declared him paralyzed.
But we refused to give up on him.
Day after day, we continued his treatment with unwavering hope—infrared therapy, hydrotherapy, bone supplements, nutritious food, grooming, pain management, endless love, and constant care. Every tiny improvement became a reason to keep believing.
One of the most special parts of his recovery was keeping him with a few playful young puppies. Their energy encouraged him to move, stay engaged, and fight for a life that everyone else thought he had lost.
And then, the miracle happened.
The dog who was once unable to stand slowly took his first steps. Those hesitant movements turned into confident walks, and eventually, he began running again. Watching him reclaim his life remains one of the most emotional moments we have ever witnessed.
His journey reminds us that healing is not always quick, but with patience, compassion, and determination, extraordinary transformations are possible.
We feel incredibly blessed to have been a part of his recovery. Moments like these give us the strength to continue rescuing, treating, and believing in every injured animal that comes our way.
None of this would have been possible without your kindness, encouragement, prayers, and support. You stood with him through his darkest days, and today this victory belongs to all of us.
We are sharing his before-and-after pictures with immense gratitude and happiness. We hope they bring you the same joy they bring us.
Thank you for believing that every life is worth fighting for. Thank you for helping us create miracles for the voiceless.
Enable us to do more .

Before. After
Sad to lose little Al Pacino. We fixed him up last year and he had a lovely end of his life.
We deal with so many sick and older dogs that losing some is inevitable but never easy.
His internal organs and especially kidneys got him in the end. A very good boy
