The moth in the video was a Red Underwing (Catocala nupta) that flew into the house.

I caught it in the jar just to identify it before release and while I was reading about the species, Ajax came to have a look.

I kept the moth there just for the few seconds of the video before releasing it safely outside. The video caption was a joke: I promise I’m the last person to torture moths for fun!
