@___KFRANNY___@Sargon_of_Akkad Yes… parking lot solar is 3-5x more expensive than utility-scale solar.
Agrivoltaics is similar or slightly higher cost than utility-scale solar, but has huge benefits for water conservation, farmer income, drought resilience, etc.
It’s not zero sum.

A year ago I would've taken the call no questions asked, but I'm at the point in my career where I need to start saying "no" more often. Reevaluating how to handle requests like this in the future -- thoughts & advice welcome.

Agrivoltaics enables farmers to benefit from new microclimates that enhance crop resilience & open up additional revenue streams. Farms like @sproutcityfarms located at @jackssolar Garden in Colorado are among those exploring this. ☀️ Read more in @ediblestories ⬇️
@DustinMulvaney Agreed that canals are a no-brainer for dual-use solar development & merit gov't investment.
From my understanding, the 2 key barriers to canal solar are (1) structural costs, and (2) linear form factor leading to higher wiring losses & interconnection costs. Is that accurate?
@ENERGY@BLMNational Also, shoutout to the anonymous DOE bureaucrat who came up with the acronym LASSO:

Tax dollars well spent lmao.
US Department of @ENERGY just announced $8.2M in funding for cattle agrivoltaics!
Huge opportunity to de-risk solar cattle grazing for farmers, ranchers, and the solar industry.

@ENERGY@BLMNational - y'all should take a look at this as it relates to your Western Solar Plan. Solar cattle grazing can work - DOE sure thinks so. Let me know if y'all need some intros ;)
