Probably the best guy I know at Techland. You can tell he genuinely cared for the games and was the face of the franchise for as long as I could remember.
@KungTerry4real@gregorianism@AnimeGuru100 Oh no, you haven’t actually watched the episode have you? Because the dialogue is actually shown in earlier scenes rather than bundled all together in one moment like in the comic.
L larper
@KungTerry4real@gregorianism@AnimeGuru100 Except I’ve seen people who have never touched or seen the comics come to this conclusion from just seeing the show itself.
@Kos_Kosakaa Personally I just find the prose to be mid to bad. Whether it’s a translation thing or the prose actually just that bad, I don’t know.
Reading western literature has never been an issue in that regard for me.
Like look, it’s insulting to the reader to spell it out like this.
@UshiromiyaMemo@SampsonMichae10 That is NOT what I saw from multiple threads and forums discussing the manga before I went into reading it myself. Aside from a couple people, the large majority praised it as being worthy, with some even claiming it’s superior. I’m going to take their (majority) take over yours.
@SampsonMichae10@UshiromiyaMemo You’re misconstruing my stance here: Battler isn’t the “best protagonist” as the original post claims. I do agree he’s 3rd behind Beato and Ange, but it’s a noticeable step down in quality comparatively.
Ange / Beato are so good that calling him worse doesn’t mean he’s bad.
@UshiromiyaMemo@SampsonMichae10 Lmao okay.
Not only is this obnoxiously gatekeepy, but also different from how the general community views the manga as a valid adaptation.
@SampsonMichae10@UshiromiyaMemo Unless he’s vastly different in the VN (I’ve only read the manga) I genuinely can’t see how he is comparable to the likes of Ange and Beato.
For a lot of the story he acts as the vessel / POV for the reader to go through the motions instead of meaningful development.
