I haven’t been on here since my health & life fell apart years ago. So much has changed with my healing journey. I finally feel like I’m becoming whole again. Abuse broke me, so I rebuilt me, & I’m not done yet. It shattered me but it’s brought so much more than I lost, grateful
@InspireMingle But there’s other reasons too. Protection from those who play victim, they will provoke you to tear down your reputation. Anyone who has judged you, isn’t for you, if they don’t seek clarity, then they seek control. Leave insecure people alone too, they bring chaos and stress.
@InspireMingle Yes. Everything requires observation, but not always correction. It’s good to be wrong for the right reason. Recently a guy tried to befriend me to sleep with me, 🤣. So I gave him needy friend with ex issues. HE chose to disappear, hopefully telling his fboy friends.
@InspireMingle I know it shouldn’t, but I noticed the back lash I cop. I’ve been told I’m too intelligent, good looking & charismatic that I’m intimidating. I was just being me. I’ve learned to be less so others can shine too. I’m also too honest, it comes off blunt. I’m AuDHD, no social ques.
@InspireMingle Absolutely, but recently I discovered only very intelligent people are able to do this, in public without cringing. I was shocked. So I’ve been thinking am I asking too much for someone to apologise when I point out they hurt me or crossed a boundary? I’m a bit stuck on this one
An old man who hit 105 said think of yourself as a chair. The four legs are spiritual, emotional, mental & physical. Keep them even in your growth to stay balanced. Emotional health: journaling, gratitude games, list one thing you are going to grow today, kindness, patience?
I don’t compete with anyone but myself! It doesn’t make sense to me, when everyone is an individual. They have gifts & struggles I don’t, & I have gifts & struggles they don’t. They’re completely different to me. Why compare apples & oranges just because they both grow on trees?
@InspireMingle@overmind01 I’m learning radical acceptance, first on myself. I can’t put out what I don’t put in first. I’ve discovered I have many rare skills I didn’t know were rare. I’ve realised, I’ve been judging people too harshly, thinking I was normal. It’s a lot of studying to understand people.
@readswithravi Thank you, I was hoping you’d mention it. The blame game keeps you stuck in anger, or excuses. I learnt to ask “ok, I know what I can’t do, what CAN I do”? Small changes add up. Being grateful for what you can about the problem, creates emotional balance, get creative & solve it.
I know this is coming, but it’s hard to believe after so many years cycling through trauma patterns I didn’t know I had. So I guess I better start developing faith.
@InspireMingle@overmind01 I didn’t know having metacognition means I have cognitive flexibility, which is rare, mind blown. I thought everyone changed their minds when new facts or evidence challenged what they originally thought. That’s just common sense!
@InspireMingle Just learned this studying trauma and the nervous system. Emotions are based on the dialogues the mind. Thoughts need to be questioned, tested and validated or updated. It pays to get curious.
Ego kills curiosity, trying and making mistakes and a growth mindset. I only compete with myself, but what I’m struggling with is radical acceptance of myself. It’s a skill that takes time. Growth isn’t all about achievement & pushing. Self compassion is important too.
@wisdomslices_ Even if you’re struggling, that’s still moving. My biggest realisations & growth happen when I’m fed up with struggling. I ask, is this worth it? Am I getting what I want? Is this helping towards my goal, or is it a distraction? I’m accountable & responsible for my own success.
Finally getting my autism diagnosed today. Already done the questionnaire & the numbers came out high functioning Autistic, but it’s suspected I’m AuDHD, so I’m not sure how this is going to go. Hopefully this helps me to go for a job that works with my AuDHD instead of against
