I graduated from @Penn in 1999. Simply having my network of successful friends from college has helped me in countless ways over the years.

I’ve never used the diploma, but that’s because I never sought a “job.”

At this point, I would aggressively steer my children away from my alma mater and all schools like it.

Maybe from college entirely.

Perhaps the pendulum will swing back, but my feeling is that students can no longer be challenged appropriately at universities, and that these schools have simply become for profit business where the “customer (student)” is always right.

We are educating a generation of otherwise intelligent kids that the world should stop for their every emotional need, that all of their feelings are justified, that failing is harmful to their future and that ideas they disagree with are dangerous.

Kids need to fail. They need to have their ideas challenged. They need to be willing to fight for what matters.

The current state of higher education is sickening.
