If you're kind of confused by this whole bitcoin thing and view it as a mania, it's not a bad time to read Broken Money.
Written in a bear market to help you understand bitcoin's fundamentals and how it relates to the existing monetary system.

Trying to keep track of this amazing back and forth Twitter thread between a novelist and the guy who was temporary CEO at Open AI for a hot second.
It all started when CEO dude starts pontificating about redistribution of wealth...
"In closing, bitcoin appears to provide a number of benefits across an ESG framework."
Terrific new report on bitcoin's ESG impacts by @BrianConsolvo for @KPMG. Share it widely.

Wow. New release from Lightning Labs is WILD.
A new standard for developers to connect AI to #Bitcoin and Lightning, enabling dynamic pricing for APIs, while allowing the AI to send/hold/receive bitcoin.
Future is here.
Let's do a close reading of "stay humble and stack sats". Here are six observations about the slogan:
1. Lowercase: this is advice for everyone, not just monocle people who observe the rules of Queen's English. Anyone can do this.
2. Conjunction: the "and" indicates that these two things belong together. Never one without the other.
3. Humility first: the slogan is not, primarily, financial advice. It begins, instead, with spiritual advice about the proper state of one's mind and heart.
4. Consequences: after humility comes action. An important site of action is money. We don't just sit around feeling humble. We do something about it.
5. Stack: implies an ongoing commitment. This is not a one time gamble. It's a regular practice, like brushing teeth or being grateful for every sunrise and breath.
6. Sats: not dollars, not shitcoins, and not even bitcoins. Sats. We build over time through small steps. 1,000 sats is better than none. This is how virtues are formed (you don't become courageous all at once -- it takes practice in small arenas before battle begins). So also for stacks. They start small. But they grow.

This is the worst moment imaginable for the White House to be drawing attention to #Bitcoin, the Streisand effect is going to accelerate adoption as people seek a decentralized alternative to the failing legacy fiat system.
It's days like today that I am extremely grateful that bitcoin exists and that some of the smartest people in the world are working to ensure it's success by building tools and applications that help realize its full potential.
There's no stopping an idea whose time has come.
I resigned from Meta, and my internal post got leaked to the press, resulting in some fragmented quotes. Here is the full thing: https://t.co/iUcr8TYMLD
the days of usenet, irc, the web...even email (w PGP)...were amazing. centralizing discovery and identity into corporations really damaged the internet.
I realize I'm partially to blame, and regret it.
Hopefully, it is now extremely obvious that Europe should restart dormant nuclear power stations and increase power output of existing ones.
This is *critical* to national and international security.
"The computer can be used as a tool to liberate and protect people, rather than to control them. Unlike the world today"
— Hal Finney, 17 years before receiving the first #bitcoin transaction
The failure of Facebook's digital currency project illustrates how critical (and precious) decentralization is. Without it, even moderate political pressure can drastically curtail the potential of any disruptive technology.
Build on #Bitcoin.
