New post:
The book of Exodus tells the famous story of God’s people wandering in the wilderness for 40 years. But along the way, they walked through 4 different wildernesses in particular—each site being a unique place of testing, trial, and temptation.

Goliath was David’s…
“Gold Star” honor
“Ivy League” status

Empathy — acknowledges validity in other perspectives (Gotcha.)
Creativity — finds connections between perspectives (Aha!)
Repentance — reframes own perspective to the truth (Sorry!)
Wisdom — knows other perspectives, but rejoices in the truth (Amen!)
Naivety — can’t see other perspectives (Huh?)
Rigidity — won’t see other perspectives (No!)
Insecurity — offended by other perspectives (Ouch!)
Humility — considers other perspectives (Ohhh).
Discernment — evaluates other perspectives (Hmm…)
So by putting the Promised Land into us before we get into the Promised Land, He saves it, blesses us, the blessings don’t ruin us, and channels these blessings to others with us.
Sometimes God takes us into the wilderness… so that He can take the wilderness out of us…
…and put the Promised Land into us…
…before taking us into the Promised Land…
…lest we bring our wilderness into the future—and ruin it, ourselves, and others with us.
Together, their journey through each one serves as a lesson of faith for us today for the many wildernesses God will lead us into… and through.

New post: "4 Types of Wilderness”
In Exodus, God’s people wander through the wilderness for 40 years, walking through 4 distinct wildernesses in particular—each one being a unique place of testing, trial, and temptation.
Knowing that God waits to show us grace leads to us waiting on God with peace and expectation. Faith in future grace empowers perseverance in the present.
Isaiah 30:18
Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you,
and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you.
For the LORD is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for him.
