@AmiriKing Most likely scenario, the helicopter was off course and too high. When asked by the controller if they had the jet in sight, they confirmed it, but we're most likely looking at the passenger jet behind the CRJ. They likely never saw the plane they hit.

@AmiriKing I'm a pilot, the jet definitely has all of that. Military usually doesn't. But the key here is that the TCAS system in the plane mutes below a certain altitude (usually 1k ft) to keep from distracting the pilots from landing. And also it would pick up planes on the ground.
