@signulll AI to the masses. These integrations will be something my parents can understand and use on a regular basis. Those who see the full bleeding edge of AI development, it feels lack luster. I’d hope Apple continually expands features throughout the year instead of annual releases
@ConejoCapital@wesamo__ Neighborhoods come and go all the time in NYC as well. Dimes Square is new from ~2017. Neighborhoods also vanish, Little Germany in ~1904. They can also be gentrifying real estate driven Prospect Lefferts Gardens instead of Flatbush.
@signulll Would be curious to lift the veil and see what their release pipeline looks like nowadays. Outside perspective is research/eng teams iterating on fine tuning a feature (ie improved images in gpt 5.5) plus bundling of improved general model capabilities for each version.
@HannaCanadia There are multiple locations of Apollo bagels across the city - the East / West village locations draw the longest lines. Fidi loc is a ghost town on weekends. Williamsburg loc is empty on weekdays. Penn station loc is excellent for your train rides.
Game 5 for the Knicks (if needed) would overlap with the Brazil v. Morocco world cup match hosted in NYC. Saturday June 13th would be the ultimate b2b watch day.
@EricsRambles Game was over by midnight. If businesses are loud past official business hours or their liquor permit, go talk to them about it before escalating to 311/Council Member/Community Boards.
@seandoherty Chance of a quick line of strong thunderstorms this evening. Storms would be a typical NYC summer thunderstorm - rolling in fast (~10-15 mins notice), quick down poor, then nice weather the rest of the night. Expect broken bodega umbrellas on the sidewalks.
Hottest new micro neighborhoods:
- NoDi: North of Dimes Square
- MaMa: intersection of Market St & Madison St
- NoVi: North of Vital (the climbing gym)
- PICL: Between Pitt St and Clinton St
- WeCoSt: Carroll gardens West of Court St
@wesamo__ Here's the full NY Times neighborhood map that was surveyed based on what locals called each area tied to a specific location. Maybe next survey we can get micro neighborhoods on the map...

For anyone wondering actual NYC neighborhood names, check out the interactive NY Times Neighborhood Map that crowdsourced names tied to specific locations (unlocked article link). Maybe next time NoDi: North of Dimes Square will be on there.

@2021Ufo@Rodairos Worth noting how quant/high frequency trading has been hiring away top talent in tech for years + deep recruiting pipelines from the top east coast schools. Reason it’s been quiet is they don’t talk publicly about their trading models due to competition.
