a life with love is a life that's been lived

this is one of the most gorgeous outlooks on grief i have ever heard

[autumn skye @autfish]

@Chris_Jordan26 ALSO it was a closed mug thing, not a cup. Don’t make it sound weirder

[autumn skye @autfish]

@Chris_Jordan26 It was ONCE and I didn’t feel like moving the top half of my body.... I was comfortable. Legs are basically just longer arms. Leave me alone

Last week, i had my students respond anonymously to the prompt "Things You Wish Your Professors Knew."

With their permission, paraphrasing the responses:

This home is worth 750k when the median household income in Pilsen is 44k. When white people decide to move to an “up and coming” neighborhood it means that people of color are being forced to leave their own communities because they can no longer afford to live there.

The former tortilla factory was called Del Rey Tortilla and Rudy Lozano worked to unionize the workers and succeeded back in the 80’s. It sadly ultimately led to his murder and it is now a gentrified home in the middle of a predominantly Latino community. This is depressing.

US and Canada is 741741 didn’t expect this to blow up so much so apologies.. and thank everyone for sharing... we got to get people talking and saving lives, no one has to suffer in silence.

[Benny James @Beno_ldn]

Did you know that if you text 85258 when you are feeling depressed or suicidal, a crisis worker will text you back immediately and continue to text with you? Many people, especially younger people, don't like talking on the phone and would feel much more comfortable texting.

[MAMA SHOCKS @mikaylashocks]

i was complaining about my hormonal pregnancy skin on stories, not realizing that my four year old was listening + she came through with alllll the affirmations 😭

HE WAS MURDERED BY POLICE FOR WALKING HOME AT NIGHT FOR WEARING A MASK/HOODIE BECAUSE HE WAS ANEMIC & GOT COLD OFTEN. He played the violin for kittens at animal shelters. He meant well. He wasn’t a threat, rather another innocent black man killed by the police. #ElijahMcClain

[Guy with a Beard @tyyy_chr]

I hope everyone is aware of the severity of this. If this passes it will not only be a huge set back gay rights but it also means more kids will be stuck in the system.

A thread currently 163 videos deep of absolute police brutality and power abuse
