@LongTimeHistory Someone explain why it's okay to send people to 'third countries' instead of them staying in the U.S.? How is that even allowed to go forward - no previous connections in that country; setting family up for further trauma and without support to navigate their new normal. why??

I used to think very diff, but something always felt a bit off about handing out slips of paper telling ppl God loves them. I didn't need that to find God

@James_West_PhD @JesterJum the 'mission' of Christianity has become so tainted by Christian Nationalism I can't even look at my past church in same light. Used to feel like a safe space, but i see social media posts of 'church goers' and church is currently not for me b/c I like authenticity and integrity

@James_West_PhD @JesterJum I have found reading the bible w/o being told what lens to read it through is important. Don't think it's wrong to do 'church' in ways that don't involve 'superficial Sunday talk'. I find some of the most superficial convos happen within a church, depending on the church.

@James_West_PhD @JesterJum "You have neither community nor the ability to engage in good works without a church." - false (community and doing good for a community is not only w/i church walls); a 'well done' sermon is super subjective and there are plenty of ways to be inspired, including personal study.
