Author of nonfiction books and poetry, now writing✍️ sci-fi and fantasy novels.📚 Also, I know kung fu🥋and not because of some computer upload to my brain.🤣
Today, I attempted to change my location to “Outside the known observable universe” but X told me it was too long. How ironic.🤣
Now, it says, “The Atrikariverse,” which is where you can find me these days.😉

PUBLICATION DAY!!!
MAJORITY by Abby Goldsmith, in your bookstores!
Thank you so much to @PodiumAudio for publishing my series, and @georgenewbern for narrating!
While I find that alpha/beta readers outside of one's genres can still sometimes provide insightful feedback (precisely because they aren't accustomed to genre expectations), I mostly prefer alpha/beta readers who would actually be the target audience for my books. How about you?
The job of alpha/beta readers typically isn't to act as proofreaders or copy editors. Their job is to spot plot continuity issues and such. They're called "readers" for a reason. When choosing alpha/beta readers, I look for readers who already understand genre expectations.

@klhicks912 Even as a pro editor, I’d still hire a fellow pro for any self-pubbed work. First, I’d revise, then pass it to alpha readers, then beta (both for developmental notes), and then hire editors. Even when trad publishers assign me editors, I still usually edit the work afterward.😉

Yes, I just hopped back onto Twitter after a four-year-plus-long hiatus just to tweet this.🤣 (Disclaimer: That doesn't count the sparse, one-off, barely once-per-year tweets to announce the extension of my Twitter hiatus.😂)
I’m still on social media hiatus but came back here to support a fellow author’s writing project & offer a software feature improvement suggestion. Returning to my writing project & going back on hiatus now. Will likely return here in small doses once it’s finished.😁 Later, all!
FYI: Will be extending my social media hiatus (yes, the one I didn't even officially announce here until just now 🤣) until EOY 2019 as I work to complete two final nonfiction projects related to another venture. That's why I haven't been here much. Will reconnect w/you all then!
