Apple's marketing is 500 IQ:
• It's not a laptop – It's a MacBook
• It's not headphones – it's AirPods
• It's not an MP3 player – it's an iPod
• It's not a smart phone – it's an iPhone
• It's not a smart speaker – it's HomePod
Name & claim everything you create.
The lesson: if you don't find the right words, keep going. Seek out the best version of your work that you can find and don't be afraid to take a new approach.
Who knows? Maybe your Next To Normal is right around the corner.
I just found an incredible story about perseverance in a Broadway play.
Next to Normal's first draft was written in the 90s and took over eighteen years to get to Off-Broadway as a satire against electroshock therapy.
But, when they only received negative criticism, they didn't give up or fight the critics. Instead, the writing team retooled the entire musical, even changing the musical's name, into something more emotional than satirical. The rest is history.
