I have been playing with a free facial blending app (can't remember the name offhand) to generate #fantasy#novel#characterart for Orphan. Got some decent results.
Visiting family in northern Wyoming this week. A bit warmer than I'd like, but cooler than southwestern Utah. Also, there's a bit of autumn color showing up, which is a nice change from desert colors and plants. Definitely needed a break to recharge my batteries.
@MadScientistJo I think the problem comes with Twitter having 7 seconds on average to make impressions before a post is buried. I've done lifts where my post is 30 tweets or more down the thread in less than five minutes. Hard to break Discovery barriers if you're never seen.
Question: has anyone ever had a #writerslift result in increased sales? I have participated in a bunch over the past year and gone nowhere. #amwriting#amreading#writing#writingcommmunity
I need reviews, but I can't get those either.
Interesting, there's a sci-fi version of the #SPFBO. Anyone know the website for it? The one I found "does not exist." If it's still open, I'd love to submit my post-cyberpunk novel.
Of course, I'm looking for any reviewers, it doesn't have to be SPFBO. Any suggestions?
Free ARCs are available on Booksprout for the time being. Signup is free, but they track your review history to cut down on piracy and to limit mooching free books.
I just recently learned about #SPFBO. Really wish I had known about it before I hit publish on my fantasy novel. Considering submissions closed in 24 hours and won't open for another year, I am looking for someone to review my book. Any suggestions?
@KCwriterartist@EsmeWeatherwax8 Let me know when you have that ready. I am having a hard time finding legit reviewers that don't want $50-$100, and whose reviews are always some variation of "great."
You can get a free ARC of my new book, though it doesn't have all the finished internal formatting of the Kindle version. Sign up for free, and leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads when you're finished!

@DeidreNorthey Writers lifts only kind of work. Basically, you only get about 7 seconds to get someone's attention before you get lost in the Twitter flood.
@MaroftheBooks I look for traditional names from cultures similar to those I am writing, and either use them outright or mess with the spelling a little bit. Then, just to make sure my created cultures are a little more unique, I throw in constructed names that sound like they fit.
@hanithagreat I could use reviews on my debut fantasy novel. If you sign up (booksprout's free for readers to sign up) you can get a free ARC copy. Stylistically, it got elements of GRRM, Jacqueline Carey, Gabaldon, and a few others as influences.
