@shaunmling Yeah i get that Shaun. being guilt tripped into gratitude doesnt work. Ive found it better to cultivate gratitude myself - bearing in mind all the good things to balance out any tendency to focus on the bad - without comparing myself to others or invalidating my experience π
https://t.co/PW0EwmY6Bi think i now have #autistic burnout after long history of overdoing it, powering through & not sleeping enough. but thats good cos I'll now be forced to change my approach to life. just found this which might be helpful to some folk π #actuallyautistic
this makes me feel much better about being neurodivergent than usual negative views. I'd much rather be an outlier, innovator & risk taker with unique cognitive abilities who drives #evolution than of 'average neurotype'. #actuallyautistic#neurodiversity https://t.co/tqrH3zQg8l
Does anyone wear a hidden #disability sunflower lanyard like: https://t.co/Sr6pEfYCQS ? they're used in uk as a sign of neurodivergence - could be used to let people know you might need extra support, understanding or more time etc #askingautistics#askingadhd#askingaudhd
Oprah Winfrey: "When a house is on fire, we don't ask about the homeowner's race or religion. We don't wonder who their partner is or how they voted. No, we just try to do the best we can to save them. And if the place happens to belong to a childless cat lady β well, we try to get that cat out too."
i've just been given another great idea for getting mundane tasks done - to play action #movie#soundtracks or playlists of battle music from #FinalFantasy games π.
Tip #3 for getting boring mundane tasks done: Daydream about the consequences of not doing the task until you get to a bit where you'd rather do the task than have that consequence π
Tip #2 for getting boring mundane tasks done: Cultivate an approach that tries to improve the quality of everything you do so you're focussing mindfully on tasks and there's more to it than just the mundane doing of them. I learnt this from this book 35 yrs ago and still use itπ
