Gosh a long since I posted. T has left primary school. In sept will be going to secondary. However there is no plan. The PS senco was useless, supposed to have a meeting with both schools, never happened. So T is going blind into secondary!! No support whatsoever!!
It’s been some time since I posted. T got deputy head boy at school. He’s thriving and goes on his residential trip next week, which he’s looking forward to going.
We've prepped T for a change. I'm going back to work. We've told him that the first few weeks are going to be a bit strange, especially as I'm training & working out shifts etc. But should settle down by end of the month. He was OK with that & accepted it. He's happy I'm working.
First week back at school & T has had a good week. He got a postcard certificate on his first day after winning a maths comp. He had a accident with another child on Friday both playing & bumped heads, he wasn't fazed by it. Currently happily spinning & jumping about in his room.
Been a while since I tweeted. T is doing really well atm. 6 weeks holidays have begun and we are planning on doing so much with him. I know year 6 is going to be a challenge for him, and we start the EHCP process come sept, T also goes on a residential trip in oct.
I am currently doing a level 2 understanding autism course via distance learning. It's been very interesting so far and I'm enjoying it. Hoping to get a greater understanding both of autism and the rights and laws so I can support T as much as possible.
T got bit at school yesterday by a child in early years. He's a prefect and looks after early years pupils on a Thursday lunch time. The school is taking the matter very seriously and making sure that it doesn't happen again. T is OK just bruised from the bite mark. He still
Our city is one of the finalists for the city of culture bid 2025. Today T and his whole school went down to the shore to wave banners and cheer the judges, welcoming them to the city. (They went by on a boat). T loved every minute of it. He made front page of the local paper
We raised the question of EHCP again and also spoke about the bullying. But as we only had a 10 min slot we couldn't discuss it further. Supposedly the senco will be in touch but we shall see....
T had his parents evening this week. He is doing so well academically but struggling in other areas, socially, emotionally. He's refusing to use his ear defenders despite getting overwhelmed in class, he's not using his exit pass either. He called his teacher out about being kept
Got to chase the school again as the senco still hasn't got back to me about this incident before Easter nor to discuss EHCP and Ed psych coming to see T! Parents evening is coming up and looks like we are missing that because T didn't have a parents evening slip for us to fill
We are moving still. We have 2 weeks left to move. We are spending our first night in our new home. Which T is very excited about. We prepped him so he was aware of what was happening.
It's been an interesting past week. T had an amazing time at Butlins with his nan and aunty and cousins. Back to school today which seemed to go well. We went to the office this morning and asked for the senco to contact us ASAP. Nothing. Not surprised. We are involved with a
Charity for parents with autistic children in our city. They are providing us a 1-1 worker to help with the EHCP process and to deal with the bullying.
