You know that question 'I usually notice car number plates or similar strings of information' which is on the Autism Quotient? Well, the other day I saw a numberplate with ASD as the last 3 letters and it was great.
Thankfully, today was a much better experience and my husband was able to advocate for me. (I don't know what I'd do without him π). The dentist was lovely, too, and super understanding.
Today, I went to the dentist for the first time in 20 years! The last time I went, I was an undiagnosed autistic kid and it was such an overwhelming and horrible experience* that I cried and had a meltdown.
* big shout out to the crotchety orthodontist that used his hairy, non-gloved hand to try and pull one of my wobbly teeth out and put me off going to dentists for all this time!

Why is it always the self proclaimed "autism experts" that get it so wrong? "Suffering from"? Check. Funtioning labels? Check. Aspergers? Check. Wouldn't trust these folks to assess anyone.
